Who is Ruby? And if you’re standing in the cafe, The short answer is- you’re in her. Ruby Lonesome is a reaction to other cafes, to other spaces, to other menus. Ruby Lonesome seeks to fill a hole in the market, to fill a hole in Sydney.
She was run-down, without a floor, and she needed a lot of love, but she had good bones, good energy, she was the kind of girl that Patsy Cline was singing about in Walking After Midnight, and she deserved a name, so they called her Ruby Lonesome.
